Technical Sales Engineer, HVAC/BMS

Functions

You will act as the technical lead in the field of heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) and indoor air quality in buildings, spearheading the technical specifications for complex projects and supporting the sales team to streamline technical validation and the closing of deals. You will not be responsible for managing a specific territory or for your own sales targets. Key responsibilities: – Participate in technical meetings with clients, engineering firms, project management teams, sustainability consultants, installers and system integrators. – Assess ventilation and filtration strategies (air flow rates, air change rates, demand-controlled ventilation, recirculation) based on the type of building and its use. – Analyse requirements for air conditioning, ventilation and air quality, proposing viable approaches aimed at achieving actual operational performance. – Provide technical expertise on regulatory compliance and certification: WELL, LEED, BREEAM, CTE/RITE, EPBD and ASHRAE 62.1/62.2 standards. – Contact and assess interest amongst engineering firms and specifiers to secure relevant technical meetings, utilising the company’s lead generation tools. – Prepare the initial sales pitch using building engineering terminology and pass on opportunities with potential for closure to the sales team. – Define the technical feasibility criteria for proposals and draft or review their technical sections. – Translate air quality monitoring data (CO?, PM2.5, TVOC, thermal comfort) into clear recommendations for the client. – Support the sales team with HVAC/BMS opportunities. – Create and maintain technical data sheets, diagrams and sales pitches focusing on ventilation, filtration, comfort and regulatory compliance. – Deliver training on ventilation, installations and real-world building use cases. – Pass on to the Product and R&D teams the needs and objections identified in the field.

Requirements

– A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering (specialising in thermal systems), Energy Engineering, Technical Architecture with a specialisation in building services, or equivalent. – A postgraduate qualification in building performance, building energy, HVAC, ventilation or sustainability applied to buildings is an advantage, as are accreditations or equivalent experience in WELL, RESET, LEED or BREEAM. – Demonstrable experience liaising with engineering firms, project management teams, installers and technical integrators, and the ability to critically analyse reports, plans and operational criteria. – Proactive development of technical channels is highly valued, rather than merely providing reactive support. – Familiarity with CRM and basic client acquisition tools as a user. – Ability to work independently when dealing with unresolved technical issues. – Willingness to travel occasionally (to construction sites, installations, training sessions and technical trade fairs) and to work in a hybrid model, combining remote working with time at the Pamplona offices.

Training

A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering (specialising in thermal systems), Energy Engineering, Technical Architecture with a specialisation in building services, or equivalent. A postgraduate qualification in building performance, energy in buildings, HVAC, ventilation or sustainability in buildings is an advantage, as are accreditations in WELL, RESET, LEED or BREEAM.

Languages

A minimum level of B2 in English, with C1 considered an advantage, is required for technical documentation, partners and international proposals.

Experience

A minimum of 1 to 3 years’ experience in technical pre-sales, installation engineering, commissioning or specification for air conditioning and ventilation projects. Experience of proactively establishing technical channels and familiarity with CRM and basic lead generation tools are an advantage.
