At BioSpain?2025 in Barcelona, Regional Minister Mikel Irujo unveiled Navarra’s
vision to become a gateway to synthetic biology in Europe.
The BioSintNA business plan aims to build an innovative ecosystem spanning
biotech, health, agri?food and clean energy. It is supported by advanced
facilities (including the Polo?IRIS Innovation Lab at the
University?of?Navarra, €5?M+ investment) and incentives, startup acceleration
programmes and tax reliefs.
Navarra’s biotech industry already boasts 31,500 jobs, more than €3?billion in
private sector revenue and patent specialization at 17.1?%.
For international talent in synthetic biology, biotech or life sciences,
Navarra offers a rare chance: a strong ecosystem, high quality of life and
strategic support for growth.
