14 de January de 2026

Through
the MUGAZIKLO project, Navarra will connect with Gipuzkoa and
Nouvelle-Aquitaine via a new cross-border cycling network, promoting
sustainability, tourism and territorial cohesion.

Navarra takes the lead once again in
sustainable mobility with the launch of MUGAZIKLO, an ambitious European
project that will create a cross-border cycling infrastructure linking
the region with Gipuzkoa (Basque Country) and Nouvelle-Aquitaine
(France)
.

Part of the POCTEFA 2021-2027 programme,
the initiative has a total budget of over €4 million, 65% of which is
funded by the European Union. Key actions include improvements to the Eurovelo
1 route, the development of a new cycle corridor from Ezkio to Pamplona, and
connections to Irún, Bayonne and Saint Jean Pied de Port.

This project strengthens Navarra’s
commitment to green mobility, sustainable tourism and cross-border
cooperation
, while opening new avenues for rural entrepreneurship and
attracting talent that values a healthy, balanced lifestyle in connection with
nature.
