MOBIS invests €214 Million in Navarra with new electric vehicle battery plant

1 de October de 2025

With
an investment totaling €214 million, Korean multinational MOBIS is developing
an electric vehicle battery assembly plant in Noáin—the second-largest
industrial investment of the century in Navarra.

Navarra’s President María Chivite traveled
to Seoul to meet with MOBIS executives, confirming the committed plan: a €214
million investment
, of which €12.7 million is backed by Spain’s
PERTE VEC II program.

This facility will mark MOBIS’s first
plant in Spain
, with capacity to manufacture up to 360,000 battery
systems per year
. These systems will integrate into advanced electric
vehicle platforms, including units produced by Volkswagen Navarra.

Government and MOBIS have emphasized close
institutional coordination to accelerate deployment, with Chivite stating that
the project positions Navarra as a competitive hub for electric mobility in
southern Europe.

Originally projected to hire around 350
workers, the plant now plans to expand to 450 direct jobs once
operations reach full capacity.

MOBIS highlights Navarra’s strategic
location, robust industrial ecosystem, and institutional facilitation as core
reasons for the investment. This move underscores Navarra’s ambitions in
electric mobility, tech-driven industry, and attracting international talent.
