{"id":9966,"date":"2026-08-12T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2026-08-11T22:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.navarratalent.com\/?p=9962"},"modified":"2026-08-21T03:35:12","modified_gmt":"2026-08-21T01:35:12","slug":"navarra-launches-a-new-circular-economy-chair-to-develop-talent-and-transform-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.navarratalent.com\/en\/navarra-launches-a-new-circular-economy-chair-to-develop-talent-and-transform-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Navarra launches a new Circular Economy Chair to develop talent and transform industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">The<br \/>\nGovernment of Navarra, through the public environmental company Orekan, and the<br \/>\nPublic University of Navarra (UPNA) have joined forces to create the new <b>\u2018Circular<br \/>\nEconomy and Sustainability\u2019 Chair<\/b>, designed to turn scientific knowledge<br \/>\ninto practical solutions for businesses and public administrations.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">Its work<br \/>\nwill focus on three strategic areas: <b>ecodesign, industrial symbiosis and<br \/>\nproduct life-cycle assessment<\/b>. New methodologies, tools and pilot projects<br \/>\nwill help organisations improve resource efficiency, reduce waste and integrate<br \/>\nenvironmental criteria into their decision-making processes.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">Talent<br \/>\ndevelopment will be another major pillar of the initiative. The Chair will<br \/>\nprovide specialised training for students, academics and companies while<br \/>\npromoting seminars, postgraduate activities, R&amp;D&amp;I projects and <b>student<br \/>\nplacements in companies connected to the Navarra Zirkular initiative<\/b>. New<br \/>\nmicrocredentials in circular economy are also planned.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">A strong<br \/>\nconnection between education and real business needs will allow Bachelor&#8217;s and<br \/>\nMaster&#8217;s students to work on challenges proposed by companies and public<br \/>\norganisations. Projects may explore areas including waste and by-product<br \/>\nrecovery, environmental taxation, circular public procurement, digitalisation<br \/>\nand environmental assessment.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">University<br \/>\nstudents will also participate in hackathons and innovation challenges designed<br \/>\naround real sustainability issues, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration,<br \/>\ncreativity and the development of new circular business models.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">By<br \/>\ncombining education, research and industry, Navarra is not only accelerating<br \/>\nits transition towards a circular economy \u2014 it is also developing the<br \/>\nprofessionals who will lead it.
