FoodTech is advancing at great speed and, in just a few months, major advances are being seen that are having an impact on the world of food. The National Centre for Food Technology and Safety (CNTA) pointed out that the food technology sector is showing increasing interest in Spain. According to Eatable Adventures’ report, ‘The State of FoodTech in Spain 2022′, investment stands at 268 million euros. This represents a growth of 9.38% compared to 2021 (discounting the ‘Glovo effect’).<\/p>\n
In its new edition of the Opportunity Scenario Map (September-November 2022), funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAPA), CNTA has identified numerous new developments in categories such as cell-based, improving the nutritional profile and groups with special needs. Specifically, the centre has identified 32 opportunity scenarios for FoodTech.<\/p>\n
In addition, it highlights the increasing importance of new process technologies as a growth in the use of fermentation has been observed during 2022. Within this category, precision fermentation and biomass fermentation have been the most developed, CNTA highlighted.<\/p>\n
