Researchers will monitor their agronomic and<br \/>\nwinemaking performance under changing climate conditions over the coming years.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">The<br \/>\nselection combines grape varieties traditionally grown in Navarra with other<br \/>\nSpanish and European varieties. Researchers will analyse factors such as<br \/>\nresistance to higher temperatures and drought, ripening cycles, productivity<br \/>\nand the final quality of both grapes and wine.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">The<br \/>\ninitiative is being developed by <b>EVENA (Navarra&#8217;s Viticulture and Oenology<br \/>\nStation)<\/b>, part of INTIA, with the aim of generating scientific knowledge<br \/>\nthat can eventually be transferred directly to winegrowers and wineries.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">The project<br \/>\ntakes a long-term approach. By observing how different grape varieties evolve<br \/>\nover several years, researchers hope to identify those with the greatest<br \/>\npotential to adapt to the environmental conditions that could define the future<br \/>\nof Navarra&#8217;s wine industry.<\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\"><br \/><\/span><\/div>\n<div><span lang=\"EN-US\">For<br \/>\ninternational professionals, the project reveals another side of Navarra&#8217;s<br \/>\ninnovation ecosystem: <b>progress does not have to mean leaving tradition<br \/>\nbehind<\/b>.
